Sin says “this one time, this sin, just once. That’s it, we won’t do it again.”

What u don’t understand is that sin – scars.

And then plants a seed.

The bible says, the works of the flesh are these, and then it lists them.

“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,  [20]  Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,  [21]  Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like”…

But the bottomline is that the same spirit that caused you to become a murder is the same spirit that also causes you to become an adulterer.

“Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:  Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.”

Notice – it is not the spirits that work in the children of disobedience, it is the SPIRIT – singular – that works in the children…

What does that mean?

It means the potential is in all of us (due to our old nature, our own flesh) that the potential of sin: murder, adultery and so on but with the power of the Holy Spirit in the believer and our obedience to him, we can overcome it. You don’t have to be a servant to sin or servant to the flesh.

Sin says, “it’s a secret, no one will find out.”

What does the bible say? “…and be sure your sin will find you out.”

And usually when sin does find you out, it is at the most embarrassing time and when it does find you out, it usually ends up hurting people that u would never want to hurt in your lifetime.

“When I sin, the only person I am hurting is myself.”  You can say that. You can try your best to believe that lie. It’s a lie. You are hurting everybody that loves you. Your going to drag them down with you. And they are going to pay too for what you do.
