The WH once again sides with the Islamists / Fundamentalists

Egypt’s Morsi and his Islamist friends and peers the Muslim Brotherhood were given an ultimatum by the Egyptian national army – resolve the protesters’ demands – in other words come to some agreement or we will initiate a plan for the future of Egypt. Morsi has been packing government (national and local) positions with Islamists. The MB’s grip on the nation is tight and there is very little if not no room left for leadership in the country that has not embraced an Islamist’s position. Islamist is the new way to say fundamentalist since fundamentalist has been the consistent tag & position of the terrorist organizations. The political hand of the same body has allocated this term (Islamist) so as to give them a clean, righteous and respectable position which also should (they hope) muddy the connection between them and the terrorists.

So the protesters who want a secular society are not only left without a say in the government they are squeezed tighter and tighter by the religion extremism of those who have the power.

What is O’s reaction to the ultimatum? Would he side with the protesters and their plea for democracy and separation of religion and state powers? Ha! True to his colors which he refuses to admit blatantly in public, he sides with the Islamists. The impudent president of the USA, the person (note the non-use of the word “man”) who held his mouth when the so-called Arab Spring swept inside Iran – has once again scrambled to reinforce and strengthen the Fundamentalist.

It will be interesting to see how the events in Egypt play out. Shame on the president of the USA.

Iran agrees to halt 20-percent uranium enrichment

To my amazement this story has yet to break through in the USA.

Debka reported yesterday that Russia says Iran is willing to agree to halting 20% uranium enrichment.

The article is worth the minute to read.

It seems that the announcement was made deliberately right before a G8 announcement was going to be made that Assad must step down and a transitional government be put in place in Damascus.

Of course Russia was against said announcement/action and miraculously pulled the Iran statement out of thin air.

It would see the implication is if you want Iran to halt 20% uranium enrichment then Assad has to stay in power in Syria.

This will be interesting to see how it actually plays out over the next few days.

Middle East at the center

Russia, Syria and Iran desperately hope to provoke Israel into a bad move so as to unite the Arab voice against one common enemy – Israel. Hizballah wants all the weaponry possible from Russia as a means to punish Israel for existing. Iran needs Hizballah to be armed to the teeth in the need for retaliation if Israel attempts a strategic attack against the nuclear program in Iran. Syria is the disguise for these actions. Putin and Russia a long time ago cast their hat with the Muslims in the Middle East, I believe for two reasons: 1. Atheistic nation (Russia) sees Israel as a symbol tied to the existence of God. 2. Close customers to buy military weaponry produced in Russia who will deal with reason 1. Add to this mix of news that Russia is now planning to resume nuclear submarine patrols in the southern hemisphere seas after twenty years of quiet.

I have not been keeping up with the unrest in Turkey and the marches in the capital, but it does smell like something orchestrated by groups like the Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamists because Erdogan does have a friendly relationship with Israel and the western world. In their eyes you can not be a good Muslim and have alliances with the infidels and great Satan. Turkey is a significant strategic point for current and future military and the like dealings with Iran, Syria and Russia. If I was a gambling man that is where and why I would put my money. What does that mean? Well one thing for certain, if you are a female in Turkey who appreciates freedom you better be looking to move to Europe or the USA. When the Islamists and MB get things swirling – the end result is strife, violence and loss of freedom (see Egypt and Iran for current examples).

Meanwhile the pathetic government in the USA is expecting more concessions from Israel in order to get their Palestinian agenda pushed through. If Israel is wise they will not bite. They are already hemmed in amongst a violent and often hateful region, there is no need to further hamstring themselves. Three more years and our chief empty suit of a president will be replaced HOPEFULLY by someone much more wise, fair, honest, ethical and Christian.

“Israeli Air Force jets were reported flying over Damascus in the last few hours by foreign sources. According to debkafile’s Iranian and intelligence sources, Iran has been pushing Bashar Assad hard to let Hizballah have sophisticated weapons, including self-propelled SA-17 interceptor missile systems. Tehran is reminding the Syrian ruler of the debt he owes Hizballah’s leader Hassan Nasrallah who was ready to deploy 5,000 out of Hizballah’s 8,000 combat-ready fighters to Syrian battlefields to fight rebel forces and keep the Assad regime in power.
Assad is therefore in no position to spurn Tehran’s demand.
And so, preparations for sending those weapons systems across to Lebanon have been sighted in the last few days at Syrian military bases. Israeli Air Force are said to be overhead monitoring these movements after Israel repeatedly warned Damascus any attempts to make such transfers would draw a reaction.

2 cents:

Have you watched the movie Sum of All Fears? My point? Because of the actions of a few the escalation of fear and destruction pulled the super powers into a state of military action that would have led to the loss of tens of thousands of lives, if not more. It took the unlikely and grasping of one leader to try something however improbable to break the escalation which was only leading to devastation.

In Syria and the region of the Middle East we are watching the escalation of activities that with each move of the piece of the chessboard – is narrowing the options of others and self into what will be a devastating military series of battles and loss of lives. For example, with Assad’s proclivity in the past to use Hizballah to ensure and protect his power grip in Syria and Lebanon; it now puts him in the situation where to keep his norm he must do things that only escalate the instability in the region. Too in Iran with Ahmadinejed’s anti-Israel rhetoric in the past which has led Iran into its current dilemma involving nuclear aspirations and  the repercussions and fears of the rest of the world based on believing the rhetoric of their president. Iran has a chance to break free and reset matters with its upcoming election. The Ayatollah who is ultimately the leader of the country has a choice to make as well and I believe he is in a quandary much like Assad. He has allowed things to roll and play out that never should have, all to maintain the grip of power in his country.

The reality in both of these actual scenarios is the rest of the world has to live here on Earth too and we can’t hope for a “Jack Ryan” to break through and reason with these leaders. Israel especially can’t afford to wait much longer without acting. Of course their foot into the sandbox will change matters greatly as well. What a horrible mess to come.

A modern day parable in Syria: A warning to Israel about Iran

From Debka this morning:

“Israel and Turkey agreed last week to start pooling their incoming intelligence on the Syrian civil war, debkafile’s intelligence sources report exclusively. Exchanges will take place at the highest level between Mossad Director Tamir Pardo and Hakan Fidan, head of Turkey’s MIT.

The United States will also provide additional security for Syria’s southern neighbor by the relocation of US Patriot missile interceptors from West Saudi Arabia and Kuwait to northern Jordan opposite the Syrian border.

US Patriots were deployed on the Turkish-Syrian border last year.

The new Patriot deployment indicates that the Obama administration is now treating the peril to its allies from Syria as greater than the Iranian menace.”

Each day that now goes by with no tangible action in Syria and Iran; it paints O as the ineffectively slow so-called leader of the supposed free-world. See in reference to Iran, his decision not to use the military to stop their nuclear program build-up has been (stripped to the bottom-line) – no actionable intelligence that they are indeed manufacturing a nuclear weapon or have legitimate aspirations to do so. So he huffs and puffs “red-line” rhetoric and can not actually –  act. He figures in reference to Syria, the same thing will work. You know the whole lead from behind and huff-puff and then lo and behold ACTIONABLE INTELLIGENCE verifies chemical weapons were indeed used and now he has to blow the house down but alas and to know surprise to those who have a discerning spirit/mind – he stumbles and stalls. Now each day of no action translates into the real world picture that the Iran position and promises may very well be – EMPTY. Is it not reasonable to see the parallel?

What is playing out is a parable for Israel as to an important lesson they must learn and take into consideration on the Iran nuclear situation. Up to now you have ignorantly or naively based your policy on O’s rhetoric and promises; now – what do you do?

Failure in talks, no surprise

““This failure was predictable,” Yuval Steinitz, Israel’s minister of strategic affairs, said in a statement. “Israel has already warned that the Iranians are exploiting the talks in order to play for time while making additional progress in enriching uranium for an atomic bomb.” He added, “The time has come for the world to take a more assertive stand and make it unequivocally clear to the Iranians that the negotiations games have run their course.”

Full NYT story here.

2 cents: What we have been told is the O will not exercise military options against the Iranian government’s nuclear manufacturing before the Iranian election. So that means at minimum an additional 10 weeks of time, work, production and improvements in nuclear production by Iran. Then considering O is bent thinking diplomacy will actually succeed in this matter even more additional time of nuclear production. Considering from what is shared in this article their appears to be at least an additional level of sanctions yet to be placed on Iran so one could safely assume at least another six to eight weeks.

So it appears more of the same till around July.

Wasn’t Einstein’s definition of insanity something like doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results?
