From a market economy to a market society

Excerpt:
“But Sandel sees them as signs of a bad trend: “Over the last three decades,” he states, “we have drifted from having a market economy to becoming a market society. A market economy is a tool — a valuable and effective tool — for organizing productive activity. But a ‘market society’ is a place where everything is up for sale. It is a way of life where market values govern every sphere of life.”

Whole article here

2 cents:
Two things come to my mind after reading the article.
1. The MSM and so called higher education indoctrinate that “we all must come together”, celebrate our diversity, globalization, etc while in actions there is constant drivers pointing out, emphasizing “have and have-nots”, black, white, race, religion, us vs. them etc. It is ridiculous what is actually churned by the so-called entertainment industry as supposedly funny and dramatic – often exaggerating differences or pumping up stereotypes. The divisions and passionate if not at time belligerent and ignorant chasms between beliefs, races, etc. are the deliberate makings of the hypocritical education, MSM, entertainment and yes political industries. The result is polarization that has resulted in our own economy hitting the brakes, morphing and sputtering because of perceptions  and revelations of the “haves”, “entitled” and depitalism.
2. Our own political processes have been hijacked by this corruption of the free market economy. Often in first paragraphs about the election campaigns and  races is how much money do they have in there coffers not the value of their ideas, values and vision. Those that would probably make exceptional government leaders are not even able to race/run because of the infrastructure which makes mandatory that one must be a “haves”. So the result is our nation and governmental leadership has been replaced via “hostile takeovers”.

Systemic changes need to occur and that undoubtedly will be more painful for some but that doesn’t mean that those changes are required if we actually want our nation and society to become a much better reality.

What a tragic loss

What an absolute waste. What a loss of talent.
The links are abundant on Drudge Report tying to updates surrounding the death of Whitney Houston.
I can’t help but think of Michael Jackson’s death and others who were so talented and frittered it way over the use of drugs.
It was a horrible day the day she accepted her first date with the thug and loser Bobby Brown. No doubt she was attracted to the bad boy image when she was portrayed as clean and good. I believe it is the picture of what is the norm in life and that is the general rule (so of course there will be the odd – exception) – and that is the bad always drags down the good it is not the other way around. And when one has an upbringing of good and avoids the trappings of drugs and alcohol and then tips their toe in the way too deep in – when they get in it is overwhelming and traps them and drags them to the bottom.

Another subject matter dear to my heart that I SO want to write a book on is the Circle of Influence. The MJ, Whitney of the world and you & I are no different – the power for good or bad of our circle of influence. I think of Elvis, John Bonham, Phil Lynott, and so on…. If only they had a strong, moral circle of influence around them they would probably be here today and produced much more music, good memories, and so on. They would have had long relationships with their children and maybe even grandchildren…

What a tragic loss…

Newspapers

One of the most enjoyable times I had on our recent SF trip was going to the Hudson News shop and purchasing the WSJ, NYT & USA Today papers for our trip to CA. Then on the flight to SF I read each of the papers the “old school” way, meaning not online or e-versions but the way you crinkle the paper, fold it, make marks for saving and getting the black ink on your fingertips. It was so enjoyable ~ the whole experience of actually reading the newspaper. If I was in marketing at the newspapers I would market/advertise the reality of that experience. Online/internet/tablet/etc will not reproduce this experience.

a virus

Earlier this week, I think Tuesday, I had the vivid image of fires spreading across the world. There is so much instability, unhappiness, protesting and malaise. I look outside and I see nature following its instincts, seasons and routines. In my heart I know that much if not all that is negatively occurring is the result of godlessness, wickedness, evil and plain old sin. In my mind I try to discern what is coming next.
Just focusing on our country there is more than enough to keep one busy. TPTB that are the nucleus of our two lame political parties are putting out weak candidates. You know that the Democratic party is unhappy with O but with him wanting the nomination as incumbent he gets it. A look over at the Republican party mess and I roll my eyes at the characters. MSM will sink anyone who has made mistakes in the past that the MSM doesn’t like. I wonder if Palin won’t attempt to ride in and “save” the party (huge mistake on her part). We have a mess in our so-called leadership of the government and that is without considering the belligerent traitors in our Congress. I will “say” again – we desperately need an amendment to the Constitution that puts lifetime term limits on a Congress member. You & I know that if something happened and we lost all of our Congress members it would be a good thing for our country. A much needed and long overdue reboot is what we need. No – I am not threatening anybody but I am pointing out how bad the situation really is.
You, I and the vast majority of citizens need to rise up and revolt against the federal government. It is at least 100 years overdue. We are not made with the strong values and passion for liberty & freedom those who led to the creation of our nation were. How horrible that is! We have allowed the system to be rigged, manipulated and mutated into such a way and thing that revolution is just about impossible. Yet I am reasonably certain that if a small group of people wisely and passionately articulated the desire and need and then positioned and in essence marketed it we could see the fire and passion for real systemic change at the federal government level occur. But where is that small group? It is not the occupiers movement or the tea party. I don’t think it would be a third party because MSM & TPTB have laid too much track and interference for such a thing to gain traction. It would have to come in a manner like the tea party in that it went for reformation inside the corruption. Much as Luther wanted to reform the heretical Catholic church, he never desired to leave it but correct it. That is the recipe for change when one is going against an organization/monstrosity that pretty much has complete power and influence. We need something like a computer virus that infiltrates the host and then releases the change in code/principles/values.

Employment & College Degrees

Well written & researched article that people with young kids in their lives that they could influence and coach would find handy. Also good for people who are considering career changes.

Gist:
A general guideline these days is that people are rewarded when they can do things that take trained judgment and skill — things, in other words, that can’t be done by computers or lower-wage workers in other countries.

1. The economic rules have been changing since the ’70s.

2. The U.S. produces a large number of workers whose skills aren’t needed.

3. Inequality is even more rampant than you think.

4. Time to consider getting a master’s.

2 cents:
For coaching and career guidance it is ever more important that your college degree be from a very well respected school. This means of course MUCH higher costs which translates into the need of exceptional high school marks and activities and parents/coaches that are fully engaged in finding financial aid (not loans). The fall back position would be loans.
It is imperative to decide what career one is focused on and then determine through research where does the employer of such careers look for candidates. Knowing universities is not enough, it is required to determine which universities are the pools of talent that the employers proactively recruit from and then target getting into those schools. This is information that will take digging but can be identified.

Grim Facts

It is my opinion that the MSM (main stream media) is doing what they can to aid O to secure a second term. I am referring in this post to the ridiculous swirl they keep churning over the Republican primary contenders. First they stoked it up for Trump (fade away), then Palin (she has not given in), then Perry (he’s in but now the focus of MSM negative spin), and now Christie who many months ago said no but they keep it up because:
1. They want him in because in reality he will be a weak candidate and absentee in his state leadership. Erode the pool of the candidates so Romney will be the pick.
2. Add unsatisfactory feelings toward those in the primaries which is being spinned to make Romney the man of the Rep ticket WHICH is a pretty safe bet that O will then when the next presidential election.

What liberals and MSM do not want is someone with fire in their veins (see Perry, Bachman, Paul). These three will push for much needed systemic change in the government which may translate into undoing some if not much of the liberal, socialist agenda that has choked our nation. Think that is harsh? Look across the pond and what do you see (in the EU)? Look further in land into Russia and do you see leaders or contenders for power that are “of the people, by the people”? The Perry, Bachman and Paul variables are just that. I am not sure of which one I would vote for but I do know that I am not for Romney.

And despite the attempts of the MSM, socialists and liberals in our country – our nation still contains flesh and blood voters that have religious/spiritual Judeo-Christian beliefs WHICH an O would win over a Romney ultimately because on this fundamental foundational issue: it gets down to a Christian vs. Mormon. Mormonism is a cult and if it helps you can say a Christian-like cult. Much of what they believe does not hold up to a Judeo-Christian questioning which is what O’s radical religion can do. Wright and whomever he has been seeing since do conveniently fall under the moniker. Again – its about votes. Though O is supposed to be about diversity and change wait and see what the MSM churns out if and when the Republican ticket is Romney.

It is a brilliant plan.
